Christina started teaching at William Fremd High School in 2014. Before coming to Fremd, she was the choir director at Batavia High School for four years, where she taught five curricular choirs and started a choir in collaboration with the special education department. She also started two showchoirs as competitive groups and vocal directed the musical and madrigal performances.
Christina is a proud graduate of Wheaton Warrenville South High School and played flute/piccolo in concert band and marching band, ran cross country and track, and was involved in various clubs including speech (DDA) and National Honor Society, in addition to choir, showchoir, and musicals. She encourages students to get involved with different opportunities along with Fremd Choir. Being well-rounded is an asset, not to mention- choir is FUN!
Christina attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign graduating with highest honors (Bronze Tablet) with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. While at Illinois, she performed in Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and The Rip Chords a cappella group. She received the Vocal Division Achievement Award and the Music Education Division Achievement Award. Additionally, Christina enjoyed studying abroad in Granada, Spain to complete a minor in Spanish.
Christina has taught at the Rising Stars Showchoir camps and ISYM at the University of Illinois. She is a member of the National Association for Music Education, the American Choral Directors Association, and completed a Master's degree in Music Education and Kodaly Level 1 at DePaul University.
At Fremd, Christina works with the four curricular choirs and a cappella and is the vocal director for the musical. She previously directed Soundscape Showchoir as a competitive group for 4 years. Christina enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, singing with St. Charles Singers, traveling, and trying local restaurants (suggestions always appreciated)!
